Access to HE Course Leader tells us why Certa Access is a great route for students

3 March 2020

Adam Stone is an Access to HE Course Leader in Art and Design at the Leeds Arts University - teaching a variety of learners who are studying the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma.

Adam became a course leader at the university in 2012 and since then has enjoyed a very positive and progressive relationship with Certa Access.

Speaking of his experience, he said:

“The relationship is extremely positive. The Certa Access team have been very supportive in helping the course maintain high-quality standards.

Achievement and success rates on the course are currently at 91% (October 2018) which is 1% above the national benchmark figure that the university uses.”

Progression routes into higher education courses have also received favourable statistics:

Adam stated:

“This year (2018), 57% of our learners successfully progressed onto degree-level studies with some applying directly to postgraduate study. It’s great to see students who often face many barriers to continuing education (including issues relating to finance, health, mental health and caring responsibilities) achieve their goals.”
